This business for sale is a commercial lighting contractor specializing in the survey, design, and installation of energy-conserving lighting retrofits in various types of commercial facilities. While the Company was founded with a focus on installation of control systems, revenue is now generated from lighting retrofits (100 percent of 2011 revenue). Through an exhaustive survey and analysis of facilities’ lighting, the Company is often able to lower energy costs associated with lighting by as much as 50 percent. The business primarily serves performance contractors and HVAC contractors in the states of Texas (75 percent of 2011 revenue). However, as a project-based contractor, customers and locations can change significantly from year to year. The Company has recently begun working in Oklahoma on a few small projects and is currently setting up work in Louisiana and Mississippi. In 2011, approximately 25 percent of revenue was derived from projects in Oklahoma. The majority of projects entail retrofitting various government-owned facilities; however, the Company does perform some work in the private sector. The current owner is approaching retirement and believes that the timing is right for a suitable buyer with sufficient resources to accelerate the Company’s growth.
